			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have just returned from a six state, 14-day tour to introduce our new flavors into the market.  Beginning in Nashville, TN and ending in Charleston, SC the response for Rainforest Citrus and Tropifruit has been overwhelming.  I enjoyed meeting with the team leaders at 21 Whole Food locations around the south.  Each team leader is enthusiastic about the product, the taste, and the initiative of saving the rain forest  1sq ft at a time.   Sampling events will begin at each store during the month of August…if you live near a Whole Foods check our Facebook page or Website frequently for sampling times and dates.</p>
<p>I’ve also had the good fortune to spend 4-days in Lexington, KY where we just launched the new flavors last week in and around the University of Kentucky campus.  Lexington is going to see a lot of Rainforest Beverages over the next few months.  Events will be held every weekend, samplings at designated locations, and our very first television commercial will begin airing August 15<sup>th</sup> on Fox56.  Be sure to stop by Huge Jass Burger for a delicious burger and Citrus/Tropifruit  or spend the evening at Tin Roof where Tim and Wes will be mixing up the very first Rainforest cocktails for those of you that want to get your  “drink on” and still be healthy.  Odds are you’ll be able to avoid a hangover the next day because of the benefits of green tea, vitamin c, and antioxidants in each Rainforest Beverage.  Cheers!</p>

Rainforest drinks are 100 percent all natural and come in the following flavors: Natural Cola, Citrus and Tropifruit. Previously available in Natural Cola, Citrus and Tropifruit varieties are new to the line and also contain superfruits sourced from the rainforest. The new 12-ounce cans feature a red background instead of a black background to prevent any association with energy drinks, the company says. They also were designed to build brand presence and differentiation on shelf. Each variety contains a number of antioxidants and vitamins.</p>
<p>Ingredient statement: Citrus variety: Triple filtered carbonated water, pure cane sugar, natural flavor, citric acid, ascorbic acid, tropical juice blend (guava, mango and passionfruit), green tea extract, stevia, apple extract, acai extract, panax ginseng, beta-carotene extract, ester gum.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>(The Wall Street Journal &#8211; June 27, 2011) The number of adults with diabetes has doubled world-wide over the last three decades to nearly 350 million and increased nearly threefold in the U.S., a sign that the epidemic will impose an ever-greater cost burden on health systems.</p>
<p>The latest calculation, based on a study published in the British journal Lancet, found that the number of adult diabetics jumped to 347 million from 153 million in 1980.</p>
<p>According to the study, the U.S. had 24.7 million diabetics in 2008, nearly triple the level of three decades ago. The estimate includes people afflicted with type-1 diabetes, which is a disorder of the body&#8217;s immune system, as well as the far more common type-2 diabetes, a chronic disorder marked by high levels of sugar in the blood.</p>
<p>While about 70% of the increase was attributed to population growth and aging, the balance was linked to changing diets, rising obesity and growing rates of physical inactivity.</p>
<p>&#8220;Diabetes is a long-lasting and disabling condition, and it&#8217;s going to be the largest cost for many health systems,&#8221; said Majid Ezzati, a professor of global environmental health at Imperial College London and a lead author of the study.</p>
